road over welmed, busing disorganized and infrequent. Who ever thought standing beside a series of smelly dumpsters in the hot sun while waiting too too long for a bus that seemed like it would never come....needs to rethink a few things. Lots of folks turned up. Money and sun screen in hand. But more than a few like me. Left and won't soon be back. I hope those that did get there before the whole thing got silly had a great time...next year I'll take my gas money by a six pack and sit in my own sand box at home and save a whole lot of agrevation...and then no one will have to listen to my grumpy missives !

It's unfortunate that a great Eastern Shore event like the Sand Castle contest has such organizational problems... first the community couldn't keep it together, then last year HRM and now, the event organizer hired by HRM.
I think I would have just headed for Martinique or Lawrencetown, both magnificent Eastern Shore beaches and built my own sand castle -- far from the madding crowds.
